Auto Insurance: What You Should Know

Auto insurance is not something most people look forward to dealing with. “Choose new auto insurance company” is not typically at the top of our to-do lists.

(That’s what makes having us as insurance agents so awesome. We’re just an email away.)

So, here are some things you may not have had the time to think about:

1. Insurance can be heavily discounted
There are quite a few different discounts available for auto insurance. Surely you know about the good driver discount and long-time customer discounts, but did you know that having an alarm system or a tracking system on your vehicle can often result in a discount? Other typical discounts include your career, years of driving experience, and good student discounts. Not sure what you qualify for? Don’t worry, we’ll find out for you. 🙂

2. Combining policies can save you a lot
When you combine your policies (ex: home & auto), you can have both for as much as 15% less than if you’d paid for each separately. This isn’t always the case so make sure to consult with us about your specific situation before making a decision.

3. If you say your car is parked in a certain garage, make sure it is
As long as you are accident-free, it doesn’t much matter where you’ve stored your car. But if you knew you’d be accident-free, you wouldn’t need auto insurance! When a claim is filed, the insurance company is quite thorough in their investigation. Make sure that your insurance plan matches the reality to make sure that nothing stalls or stops your claim!

There is always more to learn about insurance, but these are three things people often forget that can save you quite a bit money. And it’s fun to call your insurance provider when it means you save money, right? 😉

Here’s a funny little reminder of the weird moments auto insurance becomes relevant…
