So, it’s that time of year again. When we’re not enjoying the perfect (sometimes slightly hot) Los Angeles weather, most of us will be packing our bags for a week or two away with the family.
While you dream up the perfect vacation, we thought we’d make a quick checklist of all the silly little steps we often forget…
▢ Dog-sitter… to take care of that special family member we wish we could bring along.
▢ Plant-sitter… for the members of the family who like to stay in one place. 😉
▢ Call credit card companies to let them know you’ll be making purchases from somewhere other than home (especially if you’re traveling internationally)
▢ Consider using only credit cards during your trip (whenever possible). It’s much easier to combat fraudulent activity, and your mortgage money will be intact when you return home!
▢ Don’t forget to call your cell phone company and let them know that you’re headed out of town to avoid roaming charges on voice, text and data.
▢ Traveling to a city? Consider buying a money belt to hide under your clothing for cash, IDs, and credit cards.
▢ Did you know that some renters and home insurance will cover items like laptops or cameras if they are stolen from your hotel room? Check your policy for details.
▢ Travel Insurance: Is it worth it? Some airlines and travel companies offer travel insurance. Take a look at what you’re insuring. Sometimes the risk may not be worth the cost. If you’re traveling in your vehicle to Mexico, we do offer Mexican insurance so call us with any questions. We’re happy to help.
▢ Health Insurance: It’s important to make sure that you know what your health insurance covers when you are out of the state or out of the country. It may seem like a lot to clarify this before you leave, but it can make a big difference in an emergency situation.
▢ Leave it at home!! This is YOUR time.
Hope this little list helps ensure your vacation is totally free of even the smallest stresses
Happy Vacation. 🙂
